In June, we were excited to announce our new webinar series tailored for business and recruitment enthusiasts! We began diving into cutting-edge topics that redefine how you approach recruitment and business strategy. 

On June 4th, we had the pleasure of hosting our first webinar “The Secret Behind Finding & Attracting Top Performers” with Richard Hillier, Senior Manager and People Business Partner at Contentful. This session was a goldmine of information, covering 2 key areas:

  • Streamlining the Recruitment Process: Efficiency is key. We explored methods to make the recruitment process smoother and faster, reducing the risk of losing top candidates to competitors.

  • Supplementary Compensation: This is where Richard shared innovative ways to offer compensation beyond the traditional salary. From performance bonuses and equity stakes to perk packages, understanding what motivates top talent and attracts them.  

Later in the month, on June 25th, we shifted our focus to retention with “Strategies For Retaining Top Performers & C-Suite Talent”. We were joined by Lucinda Reader, founder of Ravello HR, and Elizabeth Willetts, founder and director of Investing in Women. This session was packed with actionable advice and covered a range of critical topics:

  • The Importance of Retaining Top Talent: We began by examining how retaining high performers impacts organisational success, driving productivity and maintaining morale.

  • Psychological Factors of Loyalty: Understanding what makes employees stay is as important as knowing why they leave. We delved into the psychological factors that influence loyalty and satisfaction.

  • Why High Performers Leave: Identifying common reasons for attrition helped us formulate preventative strategies. From lack of growth opportunities to poor management, we discussed it all.

  • Retention Strategies and Negotiation Techniques: Practical strategies to keep your star employees included everything from tailored career paths to competitive compensation packages.

  • Nurturing Positive Relationships: Building strong, positive relationships with employees is essential. We explored methods to enhance communication, provide recognition, and offer constructive feedback.

  • Models and Techniques for Minimising Turnover: Real-life case studies and best practices from successful companies provided a roadmap to reduce turnover.

The following month, on July 30th, we delved into “The Importance of Employer Branding – Learn How To Build A Winning Employer,” alongside David Thompson Director and Co-founder of Employer Branding Made Easy. Where we were able to cover a range of topics including but not limited to:

  • Building Your Story: The audience got an insight into how to craft a compelling narrative that attracts top talent to their organisation.

  • Work Culture as a Brand Element: Attendees discovered how to make your workplace culture a core part of your employer brand.

  • Social Values and Employer Brand: We got to discuss how to successfully align your brand with the values that matter to your employees.

  • Leveraging Social Media: We used real-life examples, exploring proven strategies to effectively promote your employer brand on social platforms.

On August 27th, we shifted our focus to assisting candidates aiming to make a mark in the finance industry through our webinar, “Stand Out From The Crowd: How To Differentiate Yourself in the Competitive Finance Industry!” This session featured a special guest Julie Wong, a Finance Growth Mentor with over 30 years of experience. Julie guided us through a range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • CV Enhancement Techniques: Attendees learned how to elevate their CV to capture the attention of hiring managers. We delved into practical strategies for highlighting key skills and experiences that make a standout CV in the competitive job market.

  • Mastering Interview Techniques: Participants gained valuable insights into excelling in job interviews. We covered essential strategies for answering questions with confidence and presenting themselves effectively to leave a lasting impression.

  • Effective Job Hunting Strategies: We explored a range of tactics for a successful job search. Attendees discovered how to navigate the job market efficiently, utilise job boards, and leverage personal connections to uncover new opportunities.

  • How To Network Effectively: The session provided practical advice on building and maintaining a professional network. We discussed methods for making meaningful connections, nurturing relationships, and expanding one’s network to open doors to new career possibilities.
